Banner News                                             4/17/2006

Daniel has been co-writing a lot on Music Row with up and coming artists. There are MANY great artists coming into Nashville every day so this is very exciting for us.  He is still working on his personal recording project.  We are going slowly with it, but we think it will be worth the wait!

I am still hard at work pitching songs.  I’ve especially been working hard looking at new rising stars!  Of course, meetings with producers, label folks and artists never stop.  I’m also the chair-person for NSAI Adopt-A-Shop committee.

Our Banner Music catalogue is continually growing. We have a couple of new clients in the ROCK market that we’ve been pitching for film/TV.    Every day we get something great pitched to us, reminds us just how much we love songwriters, artists and music of every genre.

I attended several #1 parties this year.  My friend Stephanie Beasley went with me to a few of them.  The party that touched me the most was the Garth Brooks #1 party for the song “Good Ride Cowboy”.  The songwriters, Richie Brown, Brian Kennedy, Jerrod Niemann & Bob Doyle were there and of course Garth. (Trisha didn’t make it)  It was held at Judge Beans Bar B-Q in Nashville.  Everyone had a chance to speak at the award ceremony.  One of the songwriters, Richie Brown, was so sweet.  He mentioned that he used to lie in his bed as a Garth Brooks fan and dream about meeting him.  Later, he finally became friends with Garth, and then Garth recorded one of his songs.  It is his first cut!  He said it was the greatest dream come true.  He said, “You have to do more than have a dream.  You also have to believe IN the dream”.  I could hardly keep the tears from falling.  He could hardly speak without crying too.  He gave the glory to God which I loved most of all.  Garth was getting emotional, took off his ball cap and hugged Richie.  It was ALL too cool.

We have a lot going on with Banner Music.  I can list some of the items here but we’ll be posting MORE details about them on this site soon.

  •       We are developing a radio show called, “The Banner Music Songwriter Showcase”.  The program is for fully produced, radio ready, singer/songwriter projects only.  No demos.  If you are interested in it, email me and I’ll send you an “information page” about it.  All genres are welcome.

  •       We will soon begin a “Career Coaching Service”

  •       Soon we are sending out a blitz email calling on songwriters to submit songs in our efforts to expand the Banner Music Catalogue

  •      We are looking VERY intensely for an artist to develop and manage as a songwriter and artist leading directly into securing a record deal.

I am sorry this update has taken so long to get done, but this business is so very consuming, not leaving much “computer” time.
