Banner News                                             7/10/2005

It has been a very busy year for us here at Banner Music!  We will try to update our “news” section quarterly, but please forgive us if we don’t.

Here is the latest news!

Daniel has been co-writing a lot on Music Row.   He has also been in the studio working on demos and actually working on his own recording project.  Hopefully his project will be available to purchase soon.

Camilla has been doing what she always does and that is pitching songs.  We’re very busy meeting with producers, label folks and artists looking for their next hit song.  Our Banner Music catalogue is continually growing, but we’ve also aquired a couple of really great catalogues through our songplugging services.   We’ve had a few major artist holds so far in 2005 which are always nice, but would be nicer if we got the call that we’ve actually gotten a major label cut.

We’ve had ten independent cuts this year.  I know many don’t look at the independent cuts as much, but we love artists and hope for the best with everyone who records our songs. One of Daniels songs in particular is the title cut of an independent artist project that has shot a video and hopes to secure a NASCAR Tour!

We’ve also recently secured our fourth film cut.  Getting songs in film/tv is something we are continually working toward.

We are managing a band, “SULLIVAN

They are the “NFL Titan/WKDF Radio Official Tailgate Party Band”.  This means for the second year in a row, Sullivan will play a show at every Titan home game.  What a riot!!

Sullivan also recently played for Billy Blocks Western Beat Radio program.  There were a few of my “industry friends” present who were truly impressed and believe Sullivan has a good shot at securing a record deal.  We of course believe it too or we wouldn’t be managing them.  Watch for them in future “Banner News.”

Most recent, as in “today”, I attended a No. 1 party for Keith Urban at ASCAP.  What a great guy he is.  They served finger foods and hand dipped banana splits.  Connie Bradley (ASCAP) of course spoke and presented Keith with the award.  Songwriter Rodney Crowell also received the award for the No. 1 song, “Making Memories of Us”.  Woody Bomar accepted the publishing award for Sony/Tree ATV.   Hal Ketchum and John Corbett (“My Big Fat Greek Wedding”/ “Raising Helen” / “Sex in the City”) were there along with the normal industry folks.

We continue to book Nashville songwriters to the Bell Buckle Café for songwriter showcases the third Thursday of every month.  If you live near, come on out.

One of the most exciting things we’ve done this year is get this web site off the ground.  Thank you VERY much Jack McGee!  Hey ya’ll, if you want to put together a web site and deal with someone that is easy to communicate with, hire JDN Designs to build your site!   :^)

Lots of fun and excitement here as always, but we’ll save the rest for next time!

Later,

Camilla
